Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 will pick up approximately where Episode 1 left off. It will look better, with new animations, play better thanks to a new physics engine and prove that Sonic is still capable of speeding along and satisfying gamers.
Sega’s actually released a Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 trailer as well, but it isn’t very helpful. It just shows an image of Metal Sonic, signalling his return as a villain, and confirms that Tails will be returning to assist Sonic. Oh, and it brings up the 2012 release window as well. So if you don’t see it, don’t worry. You aren’t missing anything. Still, in case you feel your life would be incomplete without watching it, here you go.
I told you it was unimpressive.
The biggest surprise about Episode 2 comes from its platform availability. It will be on the PS3, Xbox 360, Windows Phone 7 and iOS devices, just like Episode 1. However, Wii support has been dropped and Android support for devices with a NVIDIA Tegra processor is being thrown in. I guess the WiiWare incarnation of Sonic the Hedgehog 4 didn’t do very well!
