Inspired by the successes of Big Brain Academy and Brain Age, other companies are apparently less afraid to get into the adult edugaming, er, game.
Midway is releasing Hot Brain for the PSP in June 2007, featuring a weird professor voiced by actor Fred Willard. Games will be of the casual genre, include various memory tasks where you memorize a scene and answer questions about it or repeat a sequence of sounds. Although primarily a single-player game, it will allow up to three people (why only three?) to play through the ad hoc wireless connection.
Some of the minigame screenshots look incredibly bland yet the menus seem to have a lot more detail.
Of course, if you don’t want to dish out $30-50 for a brainy game, check out GamesForTheBrain.com which features many classic board games recreated for the web.
