The hype, the wait and then … more waiting. That’s essentially what happened to most people who tried to download the nearly 1 GB Halo 3 multiplayer beta through Crackdown earlier this week.

The main glitches was in tying to download through the Xbox 360 game, Crackdown, which resulted in a grey (unselectable) menu option even after installing updates.

After the issue was corrected – requiring another Crackdown upgrade via download – Bungie studios extended the Halo Beta period until June 10, 2007 (four extra days).

Keep in mind that the Halo 3 Beta is, well, a beta version of the game, so it will be a very imperfect game. Betas are intended to allow for real player testing so bugs and glitches can be worked out before the final release.
