NPD’s top 20 US games report for April 2007

Nintendo takes the top four spots in NPD Group’s April 2007 sales report, the top two being the duo Pokémon releases, Diamond and Pearl (cue the Prince song) for the DS. The number 3 and 4 slots were both Wii releases, Super Paper Mario and Play (with the WiiMote), respectively.

It’s no surprise that Spider-man 3 and Guitar Hero 2 made the top ten, though it is a bit surprising that the original God of War game for the PS2 made the top 20. God of War II was a few positions ahead in ninth place dropping down from March 2007′s top spot. The only other game released in 2005 (besides GOW) that also made the list was Mario Kart for the DS.

NPD Group is a marketing research firm that provide reports for various industries, including video games, computer software, consumer technology and toys.
