In a move that represents the good kind of customer service, Microsoft and Bungie have fixed the “Rule of Three” fiasco that accompanied the Crackdown/Halo 3 Beta launch. Due to an unforeseen glitch in the system, many of the players that put in the time and effort to secure a Halo 3 Beta code by playing Halo 2 according to Bungie’s Rule of Three program and didn’t receive them have had their Beta codes re-sent.
Just a quick refresher on the Rule of 3. Halo 2 players were required to play at least three hours of multiplayer over Xbox Live over a three day period and then be one of the first 13,333 people to register at Halo3.com.
If you were one of the unlucky ones to not receive your Beta key, be sure to check your e-mail inbox as well as the section that handles your spam just to be sure. If the code doesn’t show up in either of these cases, give a call to Microsoft customer support ( 1-800-4MYXBOX ) and they should be able to walk you through getting your code. If you do happen to call, say hello to my “Good Buddy” Max. He’s a good guy who only wants the best for you and your XBox. Good Luck and I hope to see you fragging foes on Xbox Live.
