One of my long-time favorite sites for wacky Japanese products has been J-List (or J-Box for kids under 18).
Created and operated by Peter Payne (and yes, that is his real name, I’ve asked), this displaced American shares his love for Japanese culture through a personal blog and by providing a store where Japanophiles to purchase hard-to-get goodies. Hello Kitty vibrator? Yep, they’ve been on the site.
There are two great reasons for a gamer to visit the site. The first are the dating sim (hentai) PC games. Of course, those aren’t really meant to be played by kids.
For the rest of the family, and fun for all, are the Nintendo and game-related toys only available in Japan. Check out the Super Mario Bros. plush keychain ($4.50), DS Pencils ($3.8 for 5), memo pad ($3.25) and erasers ($2.25) and even PC USB retro game pads a la NES and Famicom ($18.00). Scroll down a bit further and you’ll find an awesome Xevious, Dig Dug and Pac Man dots toys ($6.50 – 8.50 each) and plenty of Mario Bros. characters in plushy doll form ($15-28.50 each)
Expect us to ping this site often for great game-related toys and maybe even some hentai fun (*wink*).
