You were interested in that Assassin’s Creed iPad card game. It looked cool. But it also cost a whole 99¢. A 99¢ that you could put towards a McDonald’s value menu item. So you held off and decided not to bother because it was just too big a risk.
Good news – the risk has been eliminated. Assassin’s Creed Recollection is temporarily free. I guess Ubisoft decided to try and lure some new players. If you eliminate the entry fee, then charging for credit packs in the cash-shop suddenly seems more forgivable. Hey, maybe the newcomers would even be willing to spend the 99¢ they would have spent on the game on a 500 Credit pack!
Assassin’s Creed Recollections tasks players with using their collected cards to take over regions. To gain a stronghold, you have to get 10 points there. Do that and you win. Except most missions have multiple regions to control and you do need to earn gold to even take action. Players get to face off against AI in the Story mode or go online against real opponents in the Multiplayer.
The app also includes Assassin’s Creed Embers. It’s an animated short starring Ezio Auditore. So yay for that too!
No word on how long this will be free. Ubisoft’s said it’s a limited promotion, so I’d recommend grabbing it as soon as possible.
