Japan gets all the pretty 3DS units. Yesterday we heard about a Dragon Quest Monsters 3D 3DS and now today there’s talk about a special Fire Emblem: Awakening 3DS. Not only that, but four additional bundles with normal 3DS units will also be launching overseas as well. Some countries get all the luck.

The Fire Emblem: Awakening 3DS is cobalt blue with a sword and two dragons etched onto the lid. You can see it above. It looks quite regal. It’ll be sold directly through Nintendo for ¥19,800 (~$245) starting April 19, 2012. People go decide to splurge on it will get the system, a copy of the game and a ¥1,000 Nintendo Points card to use in the eShop. The point card is special as it’s also Fire Emblem-themed. This will mark the first time a Cobalt Blue 3DS will appear in a bundle.

The other four bundles aren’t terribly limited or exclusive. People will be able to find them anywhere in Japan and they really aren’t too different from 3DS bundles we’ve seen outside Japan. One is a Monster Hunter 3G bundle that comes with the game and either a black or red 3DS. The other is a Super Mario 3D Land bundle that includes the game, Super Mario 3D Land and a copy of the Super Mario Bros. 3DS download. Each of them will be ¥19,800 (~$245). The Monster Hunter bundles will be out March 17, 2012, while the Super Mario 3D Land ones will show up the week after on March 24, 2012.

I know I’ve said this so many times that it jumps to mind the second you read an import 3DS story, but 3DS units are region-locked. So don’t import one of these systems unless you’re also planning to import a bunch of games to play on it.
