Square Enix is bringing another console-quality RPG to iOS. The third entry in the Chaos Rings series, Chaos Rings II will be on every region’s iTunes store on March 15, 2012. Yay for worldwide release dates!
Chaos Rings II is another turn-based RPG. A new group of contestants have come to the Ark Arena, where they’ll fight against other people to see who’s strongest. The winners are rewarded with immortality. The losers… well… they aren’t so fortunate. You party consists of two characters who go through dungeons fighting battles and eventually come up against stronger bosses. That’s pretty much all we know so far, as Square Enix has been secretive about the sequel’s storyline and main characters.
There’s also a new Chaos Rings II trailer to accompany this good news. It’s in Japanese, but still shows lots of game goodness.
The North American pricing for Chaos Rings II hasn’t been announced. The universal and iPad versions will be ¥2,000 and ¥2,200 in Japan. I’m guessing it’ll be in line with Chaos Rings and Chaos Rings Ω pricing, which means the universal app will be between $11.99 and $12.99 and the iPad version will be $14.99 or $15.99.
