A retailer leak has been proven true! A number of European stores were suggesting a Ratchet & Clank HD game collection was on the way and now Sony has confirmed The Ratchet & Clank Collection is coming soon. The series’ 10th anniversary is showing up and Insomniac and Sony figured that’d be the best way to honor the occasion. That way, people who’ve never played any of the games before can be introduced to it in the best way possible.

The three games included are Ratchet & Clank, Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando and Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal. All three games are HD remasters with 720p 3D support and 1080p HD. It’ll look stunning. The three games will all have trophies for the first time too, in case you’re one of those people who cares about those kinds of things.

The best part is the Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal port. It still includes the original competitive multiplayer mode. You’ll be able to go online and play with people around the world who also have the game. Even though the PS2 version did have online multiplayer back then, the system wasn’t very internet friendly so I’m sure a lot of people missed out on it the first time around.

Sony hasn’t provided an actual release date or price yet. GameStop does have a product listing up already with a September 1, 2012 release date and $39.99 price tag. That sounds about right!
