Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree Nintendo has announced special Father’s Day promotions for its Nintendo World store in New York, NY. First, on Saturday, June 16, 2007, from 1 to 5 p.m., there will be a Father-Son/Daughter contest using Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree, released this week for the Nintendo Wii. Fathers and their child(ren) will compete in two-person teams in a playoff bracket to determine which family has the “Biggest Brain.”

Also, on Saturday and Sunday, dads who visit Nintendo World with their kids will receive a 10% discount on software.

If you cannot make it to New York for the festivities, Nintendo still has recommendations for good Father’s Day presents. You could buy him a DS and a copy of Brain Age, a Wii Remote to go with the TV remote, or Wii Points for Virtual Console games from “back when dad was rocking his mullet and parachute pants.” Sadly, my father has trouble focusing his eyes on the tiny DS screens, and I haven’t yet been able to convince him to get his own Wii. (What kids have the money to spend on a DS beyond the one they already have, anyway?)
