After gracing the PlayStation Network for close to four years, Sony is hanging up its interactive digital magazine series Qore. The final episode of Qore went live today in the PlayStation Store and features the likes of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, Prototype 2 and Sorcery.
Sony didn’t give a reason as to why Qore is going away. It had its fair share of loyal subscribers, but that clearly wasn’t enough for Sony to keep injecting resources into the program. The Qore name itself is also a part of the Qrocity brand that Sony put an end to last year.
Sony also put out a survey in October of 2011 that looked to gauge how PSN users viewed Qore. Perhaps the results of that survey also factored into the final decision.
As a parting gift, PlayStation Plus members that download the final episode of Qore will get the Qore Ultimate Arcade which is comprised of 11 mini-games.
