Earlier this week, we told you about how Namco Bandai will release Dragon Ball Z Kinect in October 2012. While that game is certainly going to be interesting, it’s not the only announcement Namco Bandai made at its Global Gamers Day event. We’ve got a little more information to share about Star Trek, Dark Souls for PC and other titles that will be released in 2012 and 2013.
First off, let’s look at Star Trek. This game was announced a while ago, but we haven’t heard much about it since. We expect things to remain relatively quiet about this one since it won’t be released until 2013. This Digital Extremes (The Darkness 2, Unreal Tournament) developed game will contain weapons that can be upgraded for additional skills. The co-op is also asymmetrical which means you’ll experience different events depending on whether you’re playing as Kirk or Spock. You want to know what’s even cooler? You can set your phasers to stun or kill.
Dark Souls for PC is going to come out on August 24, 2012. Its official title is Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition. Fitting right? The PC version is going to have some extra content that isn’t found on consoles and will be released both digitally and at retail outlets. This game is an example of how the collective voices of fans can sway developers to get things done.
Let’s move on to One Piece: Pirate Warriors. As the title suggests, this game is going to tell the One Piece story the <i>Musou</i> way. Omega Force is heading up development, so you know there are going to be lots of Dynasty Warriors influences in this game. We’re expecting something along the lines of Dynasty Warriors: Gundam. People keep buying these games, so Omega Force, Tecmo Koei and Namco Bandai keeps funding them. Expect One Piece: Pirate Warriors to be released in late 2012 for PS3.
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is coming to PS3 and Xbox 360 this September. It’ll have over 40 characters and will allow battles to be one-on-one, two-on one or two-on-two. Tekken Tag Tournament two will also support online and offline multiplayer.
Lastly, we have details about the Western PS3 version of Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. This game has been given a Q1 2013 release window. When it does come out, North America and Europe should be getting it at the same time. Namco Bandai also released a trailer for the game.
