The first episode from Telltale’s take on The Walking Dead entitled “A New Day” will be released on PSN tomorrow. This episode will cost you $4.99, but you can also choose to pre-order the entire season (five episodes total) and get a premium theme for $19.99. A new episode will be released each month until the series concludes. Sorry PlayStation Plus subscribers, there are no freebies this time.

Telltale is telling its own story within The Walking Dead universe. Even though the series of games follow the canon of the comic books, it won’t star Rick Grimes. In fact, the character we’re playing as was on the opposite side of the law when the walker apocalypse hit. We’ll play as Lee Everett, a convicted murderer who may or may not be a good guy. His story will pick up while Rick is in a coma, and will introduce different scenarios for familiar characters.

As with all Telltale projects, don’t expect a fast-paced run-and-gun experience. These games will be all about using your head and making careful decisions.
