Earlier today, websites from around the internet were reporting on a leaked video of Rayman Legends. The video was well produced, and appeared to be something that Ubisoft would have shown during its E3 press conference. It turns out the leaked video was never intended to be shown publicly. In fact, Ubisoft isn’t officially standing behind any of the features the video indicated would be included in Rayman Legends.

An Ubisoft representative released the following statement to VG247.

“An internal video showing images of Rayman Origins’ sequel has leaked over the Internet. This video was intended as a purely internal demonstrative video, and in NO way represents the final game, the final console or their features.”

“This video was destined for internal production teams who often create game prototypes with work in progress development kits.”

The video suggested Rayman Legends will utilize toys with NFC chips embedded within them. Placing these toys on the Wii U controller would import the specific character into the game. While Ubisoft may still include this feature, various reasons prevent the company from making any solid commitments at this time.
