It’s been almost exactly six months since Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was released. You know what that means? It means it’s the most inexplicable time ever to release a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 PS3 bundle. Yes, even though the game came out back on November 8, 2011, Sony and Activision decided May 25, 2012 would be the perfect time to bundle the FPS with the PS3.
It’s not even like the bundle is anything special. The only thing unique about it is the box. Aside from that, it’s pretty much your typical, 320gb, black PS3 and DualShock 3 controller. The only extraordinary thing is the price. It’s $299, like usual, which means that you’re getting Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for free.
As is common with unusual PS3 bundles, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 PS3 bundle is a limited edition product. Still, don’t let that get to you. The Uncharted 3 and other PS3 bundles were considered “limited” as well, but you could easily find them in stores for months after they were released. You never know, wait long enough and you might even eventually find this bundle on sale.
To be honest, I’m a little disappointed in Sony’s bundle this time. They didn’t even offer a free month of PlayStation Plus, like they did with that Harry Potter PS3 bundle. Oh well, I guess they figure a free game, especially a Call of Duty game, was incentive enough.
