The Amazon Appstore has been updated to version 2.6.53 today. If you hadn’t already gotten the update notification, head into the app’s settings and manually check for it. This update fixes a bug that prevented apps from being downloaded over a 3G or 4G connection, and it also brings enables a beta version of Test Drive.
Test Drive is a feature that has been present on the desktop version of the Amazon Appstore for a long time. Test Drive allows you to try out apps before you purchase them. Test Drive is different from a “lite” version of an app because it places a time limit on how long you can test the app for. Some Test Drives can last for 30 minutes, and others may last only 10 minutes.
Test Drive is limited to specific apps, and can only be accessed on certain smartphones. Amazon doesn’t tell us which phones support Test Drive, but I haven’t been able to do it on my Sensation 4G. Maybe you’ll have better luck.
