The newest project out of NetherRealm Studios (of Mortal Kombat fame) has been revealed. Injustice: Gods Among Us is a new fighting game that takes place in the DC universe. In this game, iconic good guys and gals such as Batman, Superman, Flash and Wonder Woman are punching each other though buildings for reasons not yet known. It’ll be out in 2013 for the Wii U, PS3 and Xbox 360.
The last time we saw DC characters throwing punches in a fighting game was in Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. Given the success of the most recent Mortal Kombat game, it certainly appears as if Injustice: Gods Among Us is in very good hands.
Warner Bros. wants to turn Injustice into a franchise. Naturally, having a readily identifiable cast of characters will give this game the surge it needs. So far the only characters we know of are Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, Flash, Harley Quinn, Solomon Grundy and Lex Luthor. Each of these characters will be able to interact levels differently. We’ll also be able to experience character-specific abilities such as Batman’s use of gadgets and Solomon Grundy’s tendency to throw large objects at people he doesn’t like.
Check out the trailer below. If we come across this game at E3, we’ll be sure to throw some coverage your way.
