Nintendo held an online event earlier today that showcased new information about the Wii U. Among the announcements was a video depicting the final design of the Wii U GamePad. The Wii GamePad’s new design was leaked recently, but Nintendo still had some surprises to share.
The most obvious change to the Wii U GamePad is the design of the dual analog sticks. They’re more pronounced than the analog sticks that were on the original Wii U GamePad. The new Wii U GamePad is also larger than what we’ve seen previously, and some buttons have been rearranged.
Nintendo also revealed television controller functionality for the Wii U GamePad. We should learn more about this function at the company’s E3 press conference this week, but initial impressions indicate the Wii U GamePad will control your television and the content you push to it.
We still don’t know a price, but that’s what Tuesday is likely for.
