Gamertell Opera Web Browser CartoonJust in case, for some odd reason, you own a Wii and haven’t downloaded Opera’s web browser yet, June 30, 2007, is the last day you’ll be able to do so for free.

Perhaps you deleted it to save room for more Virtual Console games, or maybe you have fifteen other gimmicky ways to access the internet: computer, work computer, cell phone, iPod, PSP, DS, etc. and so on. In the former case, you will want to download it again today (assuming it’s still June 2007 by the time you read this post).

Everyone who has downloaded the browser so far will continue to get the service for free, assuming you didn’t delete it (or back it up on a memory card). If you do try to download it on July 1, 2007, or later, it will cost 500 Wii Points, which is not a huge loss, but probably not worth it for such a low-res, keyboard-less portal to the web.

On the other hand, the Internet Channel is a wonderful way to play point-and-click Flash games. It’s up to you but you might as well take advantage of this wee bit of Wii freeness.
