Gamertell Master Chief Halo 3 JList JBox Action Figure

Our favorite Japanese import site, J-List (J-Box), is one of the first to post a preorder for the Halo 3 12 in. statue. That’s quite a big bigger than your usual action figures which now typically stand 5 to 7 inches. The McFarlane Halo 3 figures announced earlier will be 5 in.

The preorder price ain’t cheap, however, at $105 (yep, that is in US dollars, not yen) with an estimated release in September 2007. On a more positive note, the images on the J-List site show a completed statue (albeit a prototype as well), unlike Mcfarlane’s 3D rendering. The statue is by Kotobukiya, which makes high-quality figures and statues of comic book, manga and anime characters, and authorized by Bungie Studios.

Here’s the description from J-List (J-Box):

“Spartan super soldier hero Master Chief armed with his Mjolnir battle armor ready to spring in to action. A pistol and futuristic blade come as accessories to this 30 cm (12 inch) figure.”

So, Halomaniacs, you have to ask yourselves: Are you fans enough to pony up the scratch for this collectible goodie?

UPDATE: Here’s more information provided by Kotobukiya. “As a special bonus, this PVC figure includes multiple bonus parts for a variety of posing options. You can choose to display him armed with deadly Energy Sword, or with dual Magnum handguns.” The retail price is listed as $99 with an October 2007 release.

EDITOR’S NOTE: J-List feature items not suitable for gamers under the age of 18. As such, we usually provide links to J-Box, which is suitable for gamers of all ages, however, this figure is only available through J-List. Proceed with caution.
