The iPad gaming update is GamerTell’s weekly look at the previous week’s iPad games released in the Apple App Store. We cover them all – good and not so good. The list is available every Monday, right as you are about to start that long work week.

Google unveiled the Nexus 7 tablet and it’s got quite a lot of power inside it. Think it will take on the iPad as a mobile gaming device? Probably not, seems more like a Kindle Fire competitor than an iPad one. You never know though. What I do know is that if anyone can save the iOS platform, it’s the star of our first game this week:

Cthulu Saves the World has come to save the iOS for $1.99. The great Cthulu’s powers were stolen by an evil sorcerer and now he has to get them back to complete his quest to unleash insanity and destroy the world. Embark on this 6- to 10-our quest with multiple game modes in this 16-bit RPG.

Darkside is a dual stick shooter that has you taking on… Asteroids. Yes, those pesky space rocks are back at it again and now it’s time to power up and battle through hundreds of levels. This version is free but has in-app purchases should you need more rock shooting action. Game Center and retina display are also featured.

The Amazing Spider-Man swings onto the iPad to stop the Lizard and his minions. Swing through New York City in over 25 missions through five districts while you upgrade your skills to save the citizens in this $6.99 action game.
