The 3DS was largely left out at E3 2012, but that won’t be happening at the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con. The handheld will be the primary focus and star at both Nintendo’s booth and the Nintendo Gaming Lounge at the Marriott Marquis & Marina’s San Diego Ballroom. I mean, it’s pretty obvious when Nintendo announces it’s bringing the 3DS XL, nine 3DS games, two Wii games and one DS game to the convention.
Comic-Con will be the first chance people can test out the 3DS XL before it’s August 19, 2012 release date. I’m guessing this means that all nine of those playable 3DS games will be on 3DS XL demo units instead of standard 3DS systems. Speaking of which, these are the nine 3DS games that will definitely be at the Nintendo Gaming Lounge and probably at Nintendo’s booth.
- Castlevania: Lords of Shadow: Mirror of Fate
- Heroes of Ruin
- Kid Icarus: Uprising
- Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance
- Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes
- Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon
- Mario Kart 7
- New Super Mario Bros. 2
- Super Mario 3D Land
Congratulations in advance Comic-Con attendees! You’ll be getting to play games the media didn’t even get to try at E3 2012!
As for the three other games, they’re only so-so. I mean, the chance to play Kirby’s Dream Collection: Special Edition (Wii) early is pretty neat and I’ve heard Pokemon Conquest (DS) is good. But I’m pretty sure people won’t be lining up to try out Just Dance 4 (Wii).
