The Nexus 7 is capable of a lot of things, but it currently has no way to connect to OnLive’s Universal Controller. It would be silly for OnLive not to support what is probably the most desired Android tablet of all time. Fortunately, OnLive is working on fixing that.

A query sent from GottaBeMobile to OnLive confirmed these plans. OnLive did not provide a release window for Nexus 7 support.

OnLive’s Wireless Controller has been tested on the Acer Iconia Tab A500, ASUS Eee Pad Transformer, Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab and Toshiba Thrive. It’s a slim list, but I get the feeling the Nexus 7 will sell more than all of those tablets combined.

OnLive has a bit of time to work with the Nexus 7. The tablet just made its way to Google’s pre-order customers today.
