Xfire to offer online chats with rock bands

With all the recent hubbub about Guitar Hero III and Rock Band, Xfire is very fortunate (or in the know) to have already secured live online chats with a few classic rock and big name bands.

The chats will take place July 16-20, 2007, and dubbed “Xire Music Week” by the site. According to the site, chat participants will also have opportunities to g signed CD’s, stickers, posters and videogames. Artists already signed to chat include:

• Less Than Jake
• Mindless Self Indulgence

It’s really no surprise that Xfire could line up so many big names considering it is a subsidiary of MTV Networks. The site currently has 7.5 million registered users and frequently offers chats with celebrities. Xfire offers ad-supported games as well as voice chat, in-game messaging, peer-to-peer downloads and buddy lists for registered users.
