That Cloud Game

Celebrating and honoring the Indie spirit, Indiecade: The International Festival of Independent Games is bringing 19 independently developed games to an invite-only event at E3 2007. This even will take place July 11 through July 13, 2007, and another one is planned for October 2007 in the UK. The goal is to shake the very foundations of the gaming industry with revolutionary and innovative ideas. Featuring individual creators, teams, independently owned studios and even universities and their students, Indiecade is showcasing 11 playable games and 8 additional games on a video loop.

This three-day festival will feature continual screening, workshops, demonstrations and even an award ceremony. They’ll be doing their hardest to create a public image of games as works of art and not just a teenager’s past-time.

I’ve personally scoured the Internet to find demos, videos and information about these elusive video games. I must say, it was the most fun I had on the Internet in a long time, with my personal favorite game being Rumble Box by Digipen. Some of these games are downright artistic like Cloud by USC and Everday Shooter by Queasy Games.

Unfortunately, I don’t have the time or the space to provide in-depth details into each game – at least not enough to do them justice. So, I have a list of the 19 games and their makers, and will provide a link for each to the product’s site so you can then read more about the individual games.
