Got Game Entertainment recently (July 11, 2007) announced the North American release of supernatural adventure title The Lost Crown: A Ghosthunting Adventure for the PC in October 2007. The title was created by Jonathan Boakes (the Dark Fall series), and inspired by classic ghost stories and modern ghost-hunting techniques.

The adventure title centers on treasure hunter Nigel Danvers and his mystery-solving experiences in a creepy English seaside town. Gameplay is standard adventure fare with a twist – players wield the tools of a paranormal investigator as they solve puzzles and explore a world that is half black and white, half color.

According to the press release, some interesting non-traditional research went into the making of the game, which includes “photographs of unexplained entities” and “Electronic Voice Phenomena” captured from real ghost-hunting sessions. Sounds either spooky or hokey, depending on your perspective.

The game is due for an October 2007 release – just in time for Halloween and set to retail for $29.99. It’s also right on time for the adventure game mini-revival we’ve seen in the last year or two, with the rash of recent releases (Hotel Dusk, Sam and Max Episode 6, etc.) popping up on the handhelds and PC.
