Ouya has about a day and a half left in its Kickstarter campaign. The nearly $7 million the company has raised has attracted the attention of many third parties that want in on the ground floor. Today, Ouya announced XBMC and TuneIn will bring their services to the Ouya platform.
XBMC is an open source media player that’s available on various platforms such as Windows, Mac OS X, iOS, Android and Linux. It allows users to playback all kinds of media files on their home network. XBMC will make sure its app works well with Ouya when it’s released. The XBMC team has been granted early access to Ouya prototypes to ensure the quality of of the app.
TuneIn, a service that lets users listen to radio stations all over the world for free is also coming to Ouya. TuneIn also has apps available for iOS, Android, Windows Phone and others.
Ouya is becoming quite the little media box. We’re expecting more partnerships in the near future.
