Steam’s latest community feature called Steam Greenlight is now open for business. Steam Greenlight is a place for indie developers to put their games in front of the enormous Steam community in an effort to get them promoted onto the full Steam service. The community gets to decide which games make it onto Steam. It’s up to developers to use Steam Greenlight to provide as much information about their games as possible. Basically, the developers have to pitch their game to its potential audience the best way it can. Should a game get enough votes, Valve will start selling it on Steam.

There are more than 135 entries on Steam Greenlight right now. Some of these games have been available on other platforms, but Steam is the holy grail they’re after. This is a good way to discover some really impressive indie games.
