Life will get a little more magical for those willing to take a risk on Sony’s first interactive book. Wonderbook: Book of Spells is coming to the PS3 on November 13, 2012. That’s just in time for both the holidays and the whole 2012 holiday shopping season. I can imagine it will be a sale item in more than a few Black Friday ads.
Wonderbook: Book of Spells is a book written by J.K. Rowlings and made interactive by Sony. It goes through all the spells people have seen in the Harry Potter series. Players read along with the AR book, which transforms thanks to the PlayStation Move, and use the Move wand as a magical wand to use the spells the book teaches you. It’s all about reading and seeing the magical world come to life, with a few mini-games.
It will be available in two forms. People who already own a Move can get the Wonderbook: Book of Spells “game” and book for $39.99. If you don’t have a Move, everything will be bundled together for $79.99.
Honestly, I’d say wait on this. Wonderbook debuted to very little fanfare at E3 2012 and the Move is one of Sony’s biggest mistakes. You can easily find a Move new, with two games, for under $60 if you apply yourself. If you wait until 2013, I think you’ll find this bundle for under $50, maybe even less.
