Oh man guys, something great is about to happen. Something really gret is brewing. See, there is this really fantastic Metroidvania and Minecraft-style game on Windows PCs called Terraria. It’s a year old and it’s really cool, as it’s a 2D action game where you get to build homes/forts/whatever while also trying to survive against monster attacks at night. It’s just an awesome game, whether you’re playing alone or with friends. And now it’s coming to PS3s and Xbox 360s!

505 Games and Engine Software are working on preparing Terraria for consoles right now. Hopefully, it should be out in the first few months of 2013. I’m also hoping the PC experience will remain intact with lots of crafting, building and fighting. Oh, and multiplayer should be left alone as well. The original Terraria allows you to join up with other players on servers to explore the same world and fight or build together. It’s good fun.

Details about a price and console exclusive features haven’t been revealed. Of course, the port was only just announced so that’s to be expected. These things take time. Terraria‘s normally $9.99 on Steam, and that sounds like a safe price for the console version as well.

I’m excited. In fact, I’m really excited. The only thing that could make this news better is if Terraria will also work on the Vita. That would be a dream come true!
