MyGame logoKing.com, the casual games competition site, announced the launch of MyGame today (July 17, 2007), a social games site which combine user-generated content, casual games and revenue sharing. The site is up and running right now and available in eight languages.

The coolest feature in MyGame is the “create games” section, where users upload a photo and make a simple game incorporating it. Other sections of the site include the Pro Games section for more serious developers and the skill games area with content provided by King.com. Players can compete in the skill area, developers can show off their goods to a mass audience in the pro games section and everyone on Earth can marvel at the sheer multitude of celebrity bitch-slapping games uploaded on the main page.

The revenue sharing is based on ad revenues for each game, with 25% of the revenues paid to new game developers and 40% for Premium level developers. MyGame will also pay bonuses ranging from 250 to 1000 Euros (approximately US$335 to $1344) for each game the site’s staff deems “to be of high quality and initial user reaction is good.” Even though the bonus is deducted from future ad revenues, it is still a nice chunk of change for a novice game maker.

MyGame has a seriously cool YouTube-esque vibe, combining the elements of creating and sharing games and playing other peoples’ creations. Like it’s video-sharing big brother, quality is no barrier to enjoyment. Even if the games are terrible, it’s always fun to see what’s out there.
