Lighthouse Interactive recently (July 17, 2007) released more details for their upcoming adventure title Undercover: Operation Wintersun. The WWII-themed PC title, set to release on August 28, 2007 in North America, is being billed as an adventure title with action-spy influences.

Players assume the role of Dr. John Russell, a newly recruited British secret agent sent to investigate Nazi experiments during the height of World War Two. Russell is tasked with preventing Hitler from creating a nuclear weapon, involving all sorts of high-stakes espionage adventure across war-torn Europe. The title features several mini-games, NPC’s to interact with, and cinematics to move the story forward.

You can’t sneeze in a video game store without hitting a few WW2 themed titles, but an adventure title with a focus on James Bond-style snooping actually sounds quite fresh. Eager adventurers will be able to “work with other Allied operatives to serve your country, the Crown, and defend the world from destruction” in August.
