Exclusive interview: Robert Hurlbert talks about Gameface
When Robert Hurlbert and his college friend Jerry Dietl stared into the cover of the Beatles Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and tried to identify all the musicians standing with the group in 1988, the idea for Gameface was born,” said Hurlbert, the managing director of DAHGi. But it would be awhile before they more »
Nintendo Downloads for December 15, 2011
As usual, this week’s Nintendo Downloads are nothing special. Just one GBC virtual console game for the 3DS, three mediocre DSiWare games and one WiiWare game that, while it tugs at our heartstrings with nostalgia, may not be as good as we remember. So if you really feel like sitting this week out, or picking up Freakyforms or Pushmo instead, you won’t miss anything.
Also, if you want a drawing app for your Wii, you can test one for free. A demo of Paint Splash is temporarily available from the Wii Shop Channel. You can try it out, see if the full WiiWare game is worth $5….

Nintendo Downloads for November 17, 2011
Yeah, you probably won’t want to bother heading to the online shop on your Wii, DS or 3DS today. Trust me. As someone who’s been covering Nintendo Downloads updates for a long time, I know when we’ve got a bad one. And this week’s update just so happens to be worth skipping. I mean, when the only “gem” is a 3D update of an NES game that’s probably cheaper and better in it’s Virtual Console or in its GBA form as Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland.
Still, if you decide to change your mind, there are four games to look at today. There’s the aforementioned 3DS 3D Classic version of Kirby’s Adventure, Escape Trick: Convenience Store (DSi, 3DS) and two edutainment games called Pinoccio’s Puzzles (Wii) and Play & Learn Chinese (DSi, 3DS).
Gamertell’s Nintendo Download pick for the week is 3D Classics: Kirby’s Adventure (3DS), even if it already has appeared on the NES, GB, GBA and Wii.
Review: Julius Caesar board game
Julius Caesar is a block-style board game covering the most epic conflict in Roman history: The civil war between Caesar and Pompey.
The ancient Roman era is a popular topic for gaming, although historical accuracy and detail can vary wildly. Imperium Romanum II is a seriously detailed game covering much of history of the Roman empire, while Julius Caesar is on the opposite end of the spectrum, both in the sense of being a lighter game and only focusing on the five years of the civil war.
Nintendo Downloads for July 14, 2011
It’s Thursday, which means everyone with a 3DS, DSi or Wii is wondering what new games there are to download today. The answer is eight. Seven games were released, as well as a 3DS Netflix app.
Of course, the Netflix app is probably what most people will be interested in. With good reason. It shows that while the 3DS eShop is still laughably horrible when it comes to user-friendly browsing and content, there’s still a glimmer of hope that it will be more successful than the Wii Shop Channel and DSi Shop. Maybe by Christmas the eShop actually start getting some original, 3DS exclusive games…

Nintendo’s Q2 2011 lineup looks pretty good
If you own a Wii, DS or 3DS, you may want to get out a post-it or open Notepad right now. Nintendo’s just announced it’s Q2 2011 lineup, and there are quite a few good games coming out this summer. Seriously, you will need to start making some plans, especially if you were an early 3DS adopter. Some of the games coming out in the next few months will make that risk worthwhile. Plus, you’ll have an alternative to Wii Play if you decide to get a Wii and want a Wii Remote Plus and game bundle. On the other hand, the DS offerings are a little skimpy…
