PS3 firmware 3.73 is an optional update
PS3 owners, it’s that time again. It’s time for a new firmware! Yes, I know. I groaned when I heard about it too. Fortunately, Sony isn’t forcing firmware 3.73 on us. We have a choice! If you want it, you can head to settings and choose to download the update. If you don’t want it, then keep using your PS3 as usual.
As for what PS3 firmware 3.73 does, nobody really knows. Well, I’m sure Sony has an idea, but it didn’t go into details…
PS3 will never get cross-game chat
Well everyone, it looks like those near-monthly PS3 firmware updates are going to be a bit bleaker. I mean, they’re already pretty disappoint since they usually don’t add any new, useful features, but the next few will be especially painful. That’s because we now know that the PS3 is never going to get a cross-game chat feature. You can go ahead and try and pretend you didn’t just read that, but Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida just broke the terrible news to Eurogamer, and I’m pretty sure he would know exactly what the PS3 is and isn’t capable of handling…
Rumor: Google encouraging employes to use Macs, Linux to improve security

Sony’s Sr. Director of Corporate Communications & Social Media Patrick Seybold writes,”We advise that you do not use your PS3 system, as doing so may result in errors in some functionality, such as recording obtained trophies, and not being able to restore certain data.
Windows 7 and gaming possibilities
Recently Windows 7 beta went live for anyone to test for free. One of the questions that pops up is whether or not the upcoming Windows release would support a gamer’s needs better than Vista did. The new OS, even though a bit glitchy since it is still a beta program, will be revamping gaming possibilities for the PC like the Games Explorer program, among other things.
One of the things that’s changed with the basic interface…
Voice chat returns Home, immediately sent to its room
Home has already started going through a series of growing pains, from reportedly being hacked, to losing its ability to support voice chat. The hacking and voice chat problems have since been addressed, with the latter coming with an unexpected stipulation in order to prevent its abuse.
With this new patch comes new restraint. Those who wish to take advantage of Home’s voice chat capabilities can only use it in…
