Sony reveals which PSP games are compatible with the Vita
Sony released an interesting PlayStation Blog update today. It was primarily designed to inform prospective Vita owners of how to download their digital PSP games from the PlayStation Store to their new handheld once they get it home. It’s nothing shocking, as it just involves getting the game from your Download List at the store more »
No UMD Passport program for North American Vita owners
The Vita doesn’t play UMDs, but it is backwards compatible with downloadable PSP games. However, given how the PSPgo flopped and the affordable price of physical UMDs both used and new, many PSP owners have a rather large UMD library. In Japan, the solution to get people to upgrade was to introduce a UMD Passport more »
PlayStation Network account branding will be renamed on February 8
In a few days, PSN account holders with PS3s from all over will have to wave goodbye to their PlayStation Network accounts. Don’t worry, Sony is only changing the name from PlayStation Network account to Sony Entertainment Network (SEN) account. All of your information and passwords will remain the same. However, the PlayStation Network account more »
GameFly is offering new customers a month of free rentals
GameFly is really lucky Netflix decided to not get into the game rental business. It remains one of the only standalone videogame rental companies on the web. It doesn’t seem like GameFly will be receiving any serious competition anytime soon, so it makes sense to take advantage of its new promotion.
The 3G Vita just got a little more attractive
It’s going to take some convincing to get most people to purchase the 3G model of the PlayStation Vita. The extra cost coupled with monthly (non-contract) data plans with strict limitations almost makes it not worth it. Something tells me Sony feels the same way. That’s why it’s throwing in some extras to make the more »

GameStop’s latest sale ad is here! By here, I mean online of course. While a good portion of the ad is devoted to reminding people the Vita launches February 22, 2012 and they can pre-order it right now, the rest has to do with some rather nice sales and price drops. You can get an more »

This week’s PlayStation Store update is a special one. Why you ask? Well now we can all download the Gotham City Impostors multiplayer beta. In case you don’t know, Gotham City Impostors is a first person shooter that puts Batman wannabes up against Joker wannabes. Today also marks the debut of Scarygirl, a game that we recently more »
Adventure Bar Story is like a portable Recettear
Okay, so almost two years ago an indie darling by the name of Recettear: An Item Shop’s Tale got gamers interested in Japanese doujin games and RPGs. It involved a young girl running an item shop for RPG adventurers, while also doing some questing herself for stuff to sell. It worked, and other developers noticed more »
Japan Import: Suikoden: The Woven Web of a Century out February 9
Suikoden Tierkreis may have only enjoyed a little success when it was released in North America, but it obviously did well in Japan. At least, it did well enough to merit a follow up. Suikoden: The Woven Web of a Century (Genso Suikoden Tsumugareshi Hyakunen no Toki) will be keeping the Suikoden spirit alive in more »
Atlus skips the trolling, just announces Growlanser IV for PSP

Back when the company was trolling us about the Gungnir release, it brough frustration as each clue seemed to hint at either Gungnir or Growlanser IV. When we know more »
