PlayStation Store update for January 24, 2012
This week’s PlayStation Store update is a special one. Why you ask? Well now we can all download the Gotham City Impostors multiplayer beta. In case you don’t know, Gotham City Impostors is a first person shooter that puts Batman wannabes up against Joker wannabes. Today also marks the debut of Scarygirl, a game that we recently more »
PlayStation Store update for January 17, 2012
This week’s PlayStation Store update is pretty huge. There are a lot of games on sale including some really great titles from 2011. Many of the games are part of the 12 for ’12 promotion, so you can save even more if you are a PlayStation Plus subscriber. PS Plus subscribers can also download the Starhawk more »
PlayStation Store’s 12 for ’12 sale starts January 17
Last year, Sony decided to kick off 2011 by holding an 11 for ’11 sale on the PlayStation Store, where 11 games were temporarily reduced to get people shopping and spending those holiday gift cards. It must have done well, because the 12 for ’12 sale is starting on January 17, 2012. (Yes, that’s tomorrow!) more »
PlayStation Store update for January 3, 2012
Today marks the first PlayStation Store update of 2012. To kick off the new year, the PlayStation Network is being very generous to PlayStation Plus subscribers. The final PlayStation Store update of 2011
Well this is it folks. Today marks the final PlayStation Store update for 2011. Rather than going out with a bang, today’s update is rather minimal. There’s a handful of games, a couple themes and some DLC. On the plus side, you won’t have any trouble deciding what to buy.
Sega PSN and XBLA classics’ prices plummet until the end of November
Most of the recent sales covered have been physical deals. Items you’ll actually have to go into a store and buy, and probably won’t even get to until next week. However, there’s one sale now available that you can access immediately and digitally. Sega’s decided to do their own kind of holiday shopping thing over the next two weeks. If you own a PS3, you can get one of four Sega Classic downloads for 50% off until November 29, 2011. If you own an Xbox 360, you can get one of six Sega downloads for 50% between November 22-28, 2011. I guess you could consider it a digital Black Friday sale.
Almost all of the sale games are ports of old Genesis, Dreamcast or Arcade games. So you could look at this as an opportunity to reminisce. Unfortunately, there’s no gifting system on place for either PSN or XBLA, so you can’t take advantage of this promotion to get something for someone you love.
Anyways, here are the sale games…
PlayStation Network experiencing an outage (update)
Brace yourself PS3 and PSP owners, because something is brewing. Of course, if you’ve tried to log into the PlayStation Network in the past few hours, you’ve already released that. Sony’s PlayStation Network is down, which means no signing in to play games online, browse the internet, view streaming videos or shop at the PlayStation Store. The outage occurred earlier today (September 21, 2011), one day after Sony’s PS3 firmware 3.72 went live.
Sony hasn’t revealed any information on potential causes for this PSN outage yet…
PlayStation Store Update for July 26, 2011
Today marks the entrance of a $100 PSN download. The download is called Move.me, but it isn’t a game. It’s something that developers can use to make PlayStation Move-compatible applications. Unless you are a programmer of some sort, don’t download this. Today also brings the final episode of Back to the Future: The Game. We loved it, maybe you will too. There are also a bunch of discounts for both PlayStation Plus and non-PS Plus members alike. Check out the full list.
The Japanese PlayStation Store is finally back online!
The Great PlayStation Network Outage of 2011 first went down on April 20, 2011. North American, European, Australian and some Asian gamers went 24 days without any PSN services until they were restored May 15, 2011. They had to wait until June 1, 2011 to get access to the PlayStation Store again. Of course, that seems like nothing compared to what Japanese and other Asian territories have had to go through. Initial PlayStation Network services only first resumed there on May 28, 2011 and now, after over two months, the Japanese PlayStation Store is finally back online….
PlayStation Store update July 5, 2011
PlayStation Store update is a special one. It’s not special because of the numerous DLC discounts for Burnout Paradise and four Need for Speed titles. It’s special because the Uncharted 3 multiplayer beta is now available to everyone. If you didn’t download it before, consider yourself lucky for avoiding the nasty bugs that plagued the beta in the beginning. PlayStation Plus members are also getting some free games such as Bomberman ULTRA and a couple PSP minis.
