It’s time for another Android Amusements and this time, I figured I’d tap into happy childhood/teenage memories and grab Toy Story: Smash It!. Well, that’s only part of the reason I picked up this game, this week. One is that I wanted to cover a popular game this week, and the other is, at $1, the price was right. So get ready to go to infinity and beyond, provided your idea of infinity is endless scenarios filled with blocks that need smashing.

Think of Toy Story: Smash It! as an amalgamation of Angry Birds and the Wii game Boom Blox. The toys from the series are enjoying their downtime, perhaps between movies, and are concocting elaborate scenarios in which to amuse themselves. The iconic green alien figures play the “villains” in each story, perched on top of precarious, block towers and armed with shields. It’s up to Buzz to save the day by knocking down…

Ah Capcom, we will never tire of your attempt to keep cashing in on every game you ever sell. Your DLC practices can be questionable, at times, but at least you aren’t going overboard with the Resident Evil: Revelations HD add-ons. The entire DLC run for the 3DS remake has appeared and it really isn’t as bad as it could have been. In fact, the Resident Evil: Revelations HD DLC is downright conservative.

With the release of things like the HD Collections of multiple games/franchises and Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut on the PS3, I started to wonder what exactly makes for a good re-release. And since there were a lot of technical updates and some story updates to Deadly Premonition, this is actually cover the story additions to the game to illustrate one of the ways that the re-releases and director’s cuts can work really well.

So, for the people who don’t already know, the story is almost exactly the overarching story arc for the Lynchian masterpiece Twin Peaks. A horrible murder happens in a remote town in Washington. The murder tears the community apart while exposing the nature of area and the secrets of the town’s inhabitants to an outsider who comes in the form of the form of an FBI criminal profiler.
