Lexus ad tickled my inner 8-year-old, not my thinning wallet
You’re likely seen that Lexus TV commercial with the kid playing Centipede on his Atari 2600, remembering it as his best Christmas ever. Until he gets a Lexus, that is. (If you have not, click through and give it a looksie).
Sure, a car would be a pretty memorable gift but nothing will surpass this gamer’s best Christmas gift ever as the Atari 2600. Spending hours mastering Combat and Air Sea Battle with my younger sister, even beating my father at a marathon match up of Breakout a year later. This little system brought together the family like few other gifts ever could.
Certainly it was pricey for the time but, a car, well…
Gamertell Review: Quark on DVD
Title: Quark: The Complete SeriesPrice: $19.95Release Date: September 2, 2008Studio: Sony PicturesRating: Not Rated.Pros: A relatively unknown sci fi parody TV series resurrected for home video for the first time. Hokey humor, cheesy Star Trek homages, blatant stereotyping and over-the-top acting make this so bad it’s funny.Cons: Complete lack of extra features.Overall Score: One thumb up, one thumb sideways; 80/100; B-; * * * out of five.
Yes, the name might be a bit confusing to some. This is not a desktop publishing application. This is not about subatomic particles. It is not even about a big-eared bartender from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
Quark is, simply put, a disco parody of mid-’70s sci fi that’s so bad, it’s good…
