Verizon 3G and 4G outage will make your downloads a lot slower
If you’re a Verizon Wireless customer, you may be experiencing some data problems on your device. That’s because the company is currently suffering a nationwide data outage. This is the second time in less than a month this has occurred. There seems to be some exceptions to the outage, but chances are you are affected. Our advice is to try to connect to a Wi-Fi network if you’re planning on downloading games from the Android Market or starting up some multiplayer.
Sony and AT&T slapping a 20mb download cap on North American 3G Vitas
Today is just filled with bad news for anyone interested in Sony’s Vita. First, there was the revelation that the PSOne Classics library you’ve built on your PS3/PSP might not work on the Vita. Now Sony’s Chris Norden, the senior staff developer support engineer, has confirmed at the 2011 Game Developer’s Conference Online that the North Americans’ Vita 3G will have the same 20mb download cap found on the Japanese Vita 3G.

PlayStation Vita out December 17 in Japan
Sony is holding its pre-TGS 2011 press conference right now from Japan. This press conference is focusing on the PlayStation Vita. It has just been revealed that the PlayStation Vita will be available in Japan on December 17, 2011. The prices for the Wi-Fi and 3G models for the Vita haven’t changed. Sony is only talking about the Japanese release for the Vita. Dates for North America and Europe are still unknown.
New handheld consoles could be used on cellular networks
With the introduction of the iPad 3G, we know products other than phones will eventually be tied to the internet sooner than later. One such product is handheld videogame consoles. The PSP and DS iterations can go online, but only through a Wi-Fi connection. A report from The Wall Street Journal suggests 3G internet access could be coming to future handhelds.
