Corpse Party gets even more portable with iOS incarnation
Even though Corpse Party is an obscure game here in North America, it’s really popular over in Japan. It went from a doujin game, to an enhanced and expanded PSP game and now the PSP version is getting an iOS port. It’s full name now is Corpse Party: Blood Covered Repeated Fear, but we’ll just more »
You can win Phantom Breaker and an eightarc joystick
Who likes free stuff? That’s a rhetorical question, as everybody does! If you own an Xbox 360, then you have a unique opportunity. 7sixty is really excited about its first fighting game, Phantom Breaker 5pb and has decided to give it and an arcade style tournament joystick from eightarc. It was a special edition, Fusion more »
Phantom Breaker slipping in to North America
Here’s a shocker! A 2D, Xbox 360 fighting game with a nearly entirely female cast is being localized and released in North America by a company that isn’t Aksys, XSEED or Atlus. I’ll just let you process that for a second. It turns out that 5pb, a company known primarily for visual novels, has gotten more »
XSEED’s Corpse Party gets a November release and budget price
So, Corpse Party is a good thing. It’s a niche, PSP horror adventure thats a port of a Team GrisGris PC game. Normally, we wouldn’t get this kind of game, but XSEED decided that PSP owners still need some love even though the handheld is pretty much on its deathbed. I guess that makes it appropriate that one of its final games is designed to terrify players. It’s a shame it didn’t make it out in time for Halloween, but a budget price should make amends for that.
When Corpse Party hits the PlayStation Store later this month on November 22, 2011, it will only cost $19.99…
Prove you’re brave enough to attend Corpse Party
Are you afraid of the dark? If so, then don’t grab Corpse Party and play it without a light on. XSEED’s just picked up this surprisingly successful Japanese game that uses old school graphics, a creepy soundtrack, supernatural sound effects and a scary story to terrify players. You’ll have to stop by the PlayStation Store in Fall 2011 and download it to see how dark Corpse Party can get.
Corpse Party has a rather interesting history. It was originally a Team GrisGris PC doujin game from Japan, made with RPG maker…
Important Importables: 5pb
Last week, when Important Importables talked about visual novels you could get for your iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad, the publisher 5pb came up quite often. That’s because it’s quite well known for a number of its VN series, some of which are starting to find fame outside Japan despite never being released in English. Not to mention, Important Importables reviewed a 5pb PSP game a while back. It seemed like a good time to look into what that particular company is about. Especially since they might not be around for much longer. Cue the ominous music…
Buying Memories Off 6 for iPhone helps Japan earthquake relief effort
Another Japanese company has dropped the price on another Japanese iOS game and is donating all of the profit to the Japan earthquake relief effort. Although technically, Capcom stole the idea because 5pb did it first. I’m sure more people will be interested in picking up Street Fighter IV iOS for charity, but the dating sim visual novel Memories Off 6 ~T-wave~ is also a charitable product at the moment. The only downside is that it’s entirely in Japanese.
Well, Memories Off 6 is also $2.99, but I don’t think price is an issue to anyone when all the money is going to the Japanese Red Cross…
Important Importables: Your Memories Off: Girl’s Style review
Your Memories Off: Girl’s Style may be a contender for “Worst Use of English in a Video Game Title,” but try not to let that bother you too much. If you do, you’ll begin one of the best visual novels on the wrong foot. Wouldn’t want that to happen, now would you?
Your Memories Off: Girls Style is a spin-off of the Memories Off series of romantic visual novels for guys and a port of a PS2 game. It’s also the only entry in the series that’s geared towards women. All of the other Memories Off games are designed for a male audience.
If your Japanese language skills are adequate, and you know a kanji character or two, you may be in the perfect position to live the life of an up and coming rock star.
