BlizzCon 2009 is a go

You know, in this sea of utter crap that is our economy, it’s nice to see that certain cherished traditions will live on. BlizzCon – the official convention for all things Blizzard (you know, the maker of such fine games as Starcraft II and World of Warcraft) is officially on for next August. According to Joystiq the event is planned for August 21-22, 2009 at the Anaheim Convention Center, and the convention will sprawl across four halls (as opposed to last year’s three).

Guitar Hero Modern Hits exposed by ESRB

It’s the time of year again when Activision-Blizzard decides to release yet another installment of one of its key franchise. As you probably surmised from the headline, Kotaku has uncovered via the ESRB that the next Guitar Hero installment will be titled Guitar Hero Modern Hits and will be released on the Nintendo DS. No release date was given but we do have an ESRB rating of Everyone 10+. Wait, can they call it “everyone” if people below the age of 10 shouldn’t play it?

Peter Moore issues warning to Activision-Blizzard

EA Sports boss, Peter Moore, has designs of world domination that he spelled out to UK trade journal Market for Home Computing and Games (MCV). Don’t worry he is not building a private militia to conquer the world, but is charting EA’s course to reclaiming the top spot among third-party developers. He confidently issued a warning to rival mega publisher Activision-Blizzard.
