Kmart December 18 – 24 ad is heavy with holiday gaming discounts

Tomorrow will bring in the last week before Christmas. That means Sunday’s ad circulars will contain last-minute gift ideas at discounted prices. The Sunday ad for Kmart made its way to my mailbox a couple days ago, and it has a lot of gaming deals lurking inside. There are only a couple instances in which being a Shop Your Way Rewards member comes in handy, but for the most part, these discounts are for everyone.

Walmart December 4-10 sales ad has a couple handfuls of discounted games

roof of the holiday season hit me quite hard on Saturday when I saw an absolute flood of people at Best Buy. I didn’t enter a Walmart, but I’d imagine the scene wasn’t any better. Keep that in mind if you plan on venturing out to Walmart sometime next week as holiday pricing is in full effect.

Kmart Black Friday sale doesn’t disappoint on the gaming deals

Like clockwork, another Black Friday ad has leaked. This time, we’re taking a look at Kmart’s Black Friday offerings. Kmart has spent the past year or so getting gamers in the door by giving away gaming coupons with new releases. Seeing as how Black Friday prices are lower than usual anyway, gaming coupons aren’t playing a big role this time. The only gaming coupon offered is worth $25 after purchasing a 3DS bundle with Super Mario Land 3D. Everything else has been discounted by at least $5.

Toys R Us Black Friday ad has a buy 1, get 1 for $5 deal on games

Toys R Us is the latest retailer to have its Black Friday ad leaked online. This year, Toys R Us isn’t waiting until Friday to start the doorbuster deals. Expect the stores to open at 9pm on Thursday (November 24) night. Doorbuster deals will continue until 1pm on Friday, but the rest of the sales will persist until 11pm Saturday. In reality, this is really more of a two-day sale than a Black Friday sale. That doesn’t mean you should sit back and wait to visit the store. The good stuff will likely be gone before the doors close on Saturday. These gaming deals are part of the two-day sale.

Sony celebrates you in new PlayStation ad

If you thought Sony’s Kevin Butler commercials were great, you’re going to love the latest ad for Sony’s Long Live Play campaign. This commerical has lots of cameos from characters of PS3-exclusive games and characters from multiplatform games that got a little boost on Sony’s platform. In this ad entitled “Michael,” the PlayStation brand celebrates its community through two minutes and 13 seconds of awesomeness.

Valve will make its own Portal 2 TV ads

Most products need advertising to sell as many units as possible. However, not all advertising campaigns are successful. Sometimes ads miss the point of the product it’s representing entirely. That’s why Valve is taking it upon itself to create television advertisements for Portal 2. Valve believes no one can convince people to buy Portal 2 more than Valve.

Video: Blur calls out Mario Kart

Here’s a synopsis of the commercial. A little Toad-like creature looks across the street to see the high definition, explosion filled world of Blur. He wants in on the action. He doesn’t think racing is about making friends. It’s about winning and insulting all the other drivers along the way. The ad wraps up with the tagline,”Race like a Big Boy.”

Sony ramping up promotions for PSP, PlayStation Move

Despite a lack of compelling software and problems with piracy, the PSP continues to sell fairly well. In an attempt to ramp up support for the console, Sony will release a series of commercials promoting the PSP. The commercials will take on the feel of Sony’s current Kevin Butler commercials.

Game Crazy carrying select Atlus classics

The latest Atlus newsletter offers an interesting deal for Atlus fans. Apparently, Game Crazy stores are going to be getting a limited stock of old Atlus games to sell. People who stop in can place an order for some select Atlus titles. The deal isn’t available online – the email clearly states that you have to actually visit a Game Crazy store to take part. The ad doesn’t say anything about prices, so make sure to ask before placing any orders.

The ad clearly shows six games, with at least four hard to find titles…

Circuit City’s Cyber Monday 2008 game deal – buy a game, get a gift card

Circuit City‘s Cyber Monday 2008 sale is somewhat lackluster. At least, when it comes to video games its fairly anticlimactic. If you purchase one of ten select DS, PS3, Wii or Xbox 360 games, you will receive a $10 Circuit City gift card. Of course, with Circuit City declaring bankruptcy and closing so many stores, this deal may not be the smartest one to bet on.

All of the games are quite popular ones. Nintendo games elligible for this deal are Animal Crossing: City Folk (Wii), Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS), Prince of Persia: The Fallen King (DS) and Wii Music (Wii). Call of Duty: World at War (PS3 or Xbox 360), Gears of War 2 (Xbox 360), Prince of Persia (PS3 or Xbox 360) and Resistance 2 (PS3) are also part of the deal. Oddly enough, many of the participating games are unavailable, as the Prince of Persia games are listed as pre-orders and the Prince of Persia: The Fallen King game is shown as coming soon, with no option to even place an order…
