Rock Band 3 breaking annual release cycle

Due at least in part to developing a Beatles-themed music game (and building a Fort Knox-style complex to house money raked in from said game), Harmonix will not release a Rock Band game in 2009. That word came from Harmonix CEO Alex Rigopolous during an interview at Billboard’s “Digital Music Live” conference session at the International Consumer Electronics Show 2009 in Las Vegas, CA (USA).

Metallica themed Guitar Hero game in the works

In 1981, Metallica was formed. In 1983, they came out with their first album, Kill ‘Em All. The album also featured the first of what would be multiple lineup changes in their evolution. More than 20 years later, Metallica is still going strong and, much like Aerosmith, are coming out with their first game.

Rock and roll dreams with Aerosmith and Guitar Hero

Activision has just made an astounding new announcement concerning the next entry in the Guitar Hero series. It seems the next title, which will be available on the PS2, PS3, Wii and Xbox 360, will feature songs from only one band: Aerosmith. Guitar Hero: Aerosmith will allow players to play guitar with the group as Joe Perry, Brad Whitford or Tom Hamilton. While the official press release does not give a release date, Gamefaqs listings for the game offers an expected June 2008 release window.
