Due at least in part to developing a Beatles-themed music game (and building a Fort Knox-style complex to house money raked in from said game), Harmonix will not release a Rock Band game in 2009. Activision has just made an astounding new announcement concerning the next entry in the Guitar Hero series. It seems the next title, which will be available on the PS2, PS3, Wii and Xbox 360, will feature songs from only one band: Aerosmith. Guitar Hero: Aerosmith will allow players to play guitar with the group as Joe Perry, Brad Whitford or Tom Hamilton. While the official press release does not give a release date, Gamefaqs listings for the game offers an expected June 2008 release window.
