Target’s after Christmas video game sales

This Sunday’s paper contains Target’s after Christmas sale flier, and if you’re looking to spend any gift cards or Christmas cash on video games, you may want to stop by between December 27, 2009 and January 2, 2010. Target may not have any substantial discounts on systems after the holidays, but there’s a great assortment of games on sale.

First, Target has eight major video games on sale for $39 that normally cost either $49.99 or $59.99. If you have a Wii, you can pick up Mario Kart Wii, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, Shaun White Snowboarding: World Stage with the Target exclusive DVD, Wii Sports Resort, Madden NFL 10, NBA 2K10 and James Cameron’s Avatar the Game. PS3 and Xbox 360 owners’ choices are a little more limited, as they can only choose from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Madden NFL 10, NBA 2K10 and James Cameron’s Avatar the Game.

Target has also announced a 50% video game clearance. An exact number of sale games isn’t stated, just that there will be “dozens of titles.” A few specific games are shown in the ad to give people an idea of what could be available, and are as follows…

Best Buy’s after Christmas video game sales

If you go out and, for many, brave the snow, to get Sunday’s newspaper, you’ll find a plethora of store ads declaring fantastic after Christmas sales. Best Buy is one of those stores, and the ad is impressive. Remember though, the sales in the Sunday Best Buy ad only apply between December 27, 2009 and January 2, 2010.

If you wanted an Xbox 360 for Christmas, you may want to head on over to Best Buy this week. An Xbox 360 Arcade system is its normal $199.99 price, but if you buy one, you will save $60 on one Xbox 360 accessory or game. The best part is, if you pick a game or accessory that costs less than $60, you get it for free. It’s almost like you get to make your own bundle…

Deal(s) of the Day: Amazon’s Monday Madness for December 29, 2008

Apparently, Amazon likes to play yo-yo when it comes to pricing video games.

While casually perusing Amazon for some bargain bin deals, I came across quite a few markdowns. Avid bargain hunters may find quite a few of the titles that have been reduced familiar, but there are at least a handful of new sale items. It’s hard to say how long these lowered prices will linger for, so it’d be best to nab them as soon as possible with that Christmas money you just received from grandma..
