PC gamers get Alan Wake as Xbox 360 owners get American Nightmare

Here’s some good news for computer gamers who enjoy adventure games with rich, thrilling stories. Alan Wake is actually getting a Windows port! The Xbox 360 game received rave reviews when it was released in May, 2010 and since then people who don’t own that particular console have been hoping Remedy would work on a port. Now, it turns out all those people may get to experience the original Alan Wake just as Alan Wake: American Nightmare is released on Xbox Live Arcade.

As of right now, both games have an early 2011 release window…

Walmart discounts Xbox Live subscription, Halo: Reach and Fable III

My friends, there is no good reason to spend $60 a year for a Xbox Live Gold subscription. Prices will always be more expensive when you buy directly from Microsoft. To find a good deal, you have to buy from retailers. In this case, the retailer is Walmart. If you head to Walmart’s site now, you’ll find a 12-month Xbox Live Gold subscription for $44.96. With the $15 you’ll save, you can put it towards the recently discounted Halo: Reach or Fable III.

Seven best horror games for a snowy day

Is winter weather getting you down? Being cooped up due to the weather, especially if you live in a usually lively city, is probably getting rather boring. Trust me. Being a Chicago native, I know due to the recent “blizzard”. You’ve got quite a few options to occupy your time, though. This is going to be a list of some of the best horror games to distract yourself with while you’re trapped within your house.

Some of these do require power but a few games in the list only require a light source (preferably a little spooky), pencils, paper and dice.

PC owners teased with Alan Wake theme pack

Hey, good news Windows owners. Just because you can’t play Alan Wake on your computer doesn’t mean you can’t see it on there! Microsoft has just released a brand new, Alan Wake theme pack for your Windows 7 computers. Because looking at the game you were promised for years is the next best thing to actually experiencing it.

The Alan Wake theme pack is a free download…

Thanksgiving Turkey Shoot: 2010′s biggest video game busts

There have been some truly stellar titles released in 2010. Sadly though, there are some that just didn’t live up to their massive hype for one reason or another. As we stuff our face and sit down on the couch for football, family and surely some video games, Gamertell stops to remember the games that will soon be forgotten.

Keep an eye out for the Alan Wake and Forza 3 Xbox 360 bundle

The holiday shopping season is upon us, which means it’s time for more console bundles! The latest announcement comes from Microsoft, which will be sending a new Xbox 360 bundle to store shelves shortly. I know what you’re thinking and no, it isn’t another console and Kinect bundle. It’s a standard Xbox 360 bundle with two games inside…

Dude, where’s my Alan Wake code?

Has it ever happened to you that you are certain you have some money in you pocket or wallet? Maybe a $10 or a $20 just lying there. You are sure you can count on it to get some food after a night out, or maybe some breakfast the morning after. And then, you reach in there and there’s nothing. Not even a little lint. Did I change it all for ones and made it rain? Did I actually buy a round for those Avon ladies? I guess we’ll never know. But the thing is you feel kind of cheated, and that’s how I felt yesterday when I tried to play Alan Wake‘s new episode.

Download Alan Wake’s The Signal DLC for free

Alan Wake‘s first downloadable content add-on episode, The Signal is now ready to be downloaded. Good news all around, since by now you may have beaten the main game and are ready for a new hour to hour and a half long adventure to guide Alan through. I mean, it did come out all the way back in May, 2010. Even better news is, it’s free for some people…

Crazy Kmart gaming deals for next week

Kmart will be unleashing some killer deals next week starting on July 11, 2010. These deals are for some pretty recent games too. These offers are will be available in the store as well as online. At these prices some of the more popular games are almost certain not to be in stock for very long.

Round out video game soundtrack collections with the Alan Wake Original Score

If you loved the popular songs that appeared in each episode of Alan Wake, they were pretty simple to find. Just head to iTunes or your favorite music downloads store and pick up “Space Oddity” by David Bowie, “In Dreams” by Roy Orbison or so on. Finding the orchestral score by Petri Alanko was more difficult, as a segment of it was only available on a CD that came with the limited edition of Alan Wake. Now, you can get the full Alan Wake Original Score thanks to Sumthing Else Music.

On July 20, 2010, Sumthing Else Music will release the Alan Wake Original Score so everyone who didn’t feel like paying for a premium version of Alan Wake can get it. Or, if you prefer, you can just pick up your favorite compositions from the 18 track release. In case you’re having trouble remembering what some of those songs sounded like, you can head over to Sumthing Digital…
