Rebellion trying to make good with Aliens vs. Predator
It hasn’t gone unnoticed that Rebellion, the developer charged with bringing Aliens vs. Predator to PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, is responsible for two of the worst games in recent memory. Shellshock 2: Blood Trails and Rogue Warrior aren’t just bad games, they are true Hall of Shame contenders. If one were teaching a class in how to make an embarrassing game, these two disasters would be worthy textbooks.
Rebellion Lead Designer Alex Moore addressed the elephant (or Alien queen, as it were) in the room. Despite a checkered past, Moore believes Rebellion will prove itself here…
PS3 Aliens vs. Predator demo fine-tuned and rereleased
If you were disappointed with the quirks of the Aliens vs. Predator demo that was available on the PlayStation Store, then prepare for a pleasant surprise. Sega’s fixed it. If you have the previous version of the demo, ditch it, head back to the PlayStation Store and redownload it. You’re going to have to do it anyways, as the old demo will give you an “incompatible version” error now that the fixed demo is available.
The previous Aliens vs. Predator demo had problems with the multiplayer matches. The matchmaking just didn’t work right, and many people found themselves unable to fight against other players…
Aliens vs. Predator refused classification in Australia
Australia‘s Office of Film Literature Classification (OFLC) is continuing its hard-line stance against graphic video game violence.
Sega’s PC game Aliens vs. Predator has received the refused classification (RC) rating, making it the sixth game this year to be deemed unfit for release in Australia. AvP joins Risen, Sexy Poker, Left 4 Dead 2, Necrovision and CrimeCraft on this rapidly lengthening list.
Aliens vs. Predator shown off Windows 7′s New York debut
Today, October 22, 2009, is a big day for PC owners and fans, as Windows 7 makes its official debut. But it isn’t the only item taking center stage on launch day. The New York launch event also featured an anticipated video game from Rebellion Developments and Sega, Aliens vs. Predator.
The new Aliens vs. Predator trailer that appeared at the Windows 7 event was made part of the ceremonies to help give potential buyers and users and idea of what it is going to be like to play games on Windows 7. In fact, the official press release specifically stated that Alien vs. Predator is being used specifically because its appearance and footage are perfect for showing off Windows 7′s graphical and processing capabilities…
