THQ announces Kinect’s first augmented reality game
Kinect isn’t just for motion gaming anymore. THQ and Blitz Games Studios are going to use the peripheral to produce its first augmented reality game. Fantastic Pets literally places you in the game’s world where cute and cuddly animals await. Fantastic Pets is scheduled to be released in March 2011.
Sony shutting down Afrika’s Japan servers in August
After a stellar first showing in 2006 and many delays thereafter, Afrika finally arrived in North America in the Fall of 2009. It was met with mixed reviews with most critics giving it below average, to average scores. Now two years later after its Japanese release, Sony has decided it’s time to bid Afrika’s online community goodbye.

Taito’s My Pet Shop will be leaping into kids’ laps on March 10, 2009
Taito just announced that it plans to release My Pet Shop (Japanese title: Pet Shop Monogatari) for the Nintendo DS on March 10, 2009.
My Pet Shop is a simulation game that emphasizes the importance of organization, responsibility and care that is required in the raising of a multitude of pets. The game takes place in sunny, happy-go-lucky Green Town where you assist Mama/Mom (who looks like a younger version of Cooking Mama) in running the local pet shop through shopping, chores, and befriending the other people of the town.
