Review: Alvin and the Chipunks: Chipwrecked movie
Alvin, up to his usual hijinks again and has managed to get Dave and the crew shipwrecked on a deserted island in the middle of nowhere.
As if that isn’t bad enough Simon was bitten by a spider and now thinks he’s a French stud named Simone, Eleanor broke her leg and there is a crazy lady living on the island that talks to various sports balls. Not to mention the Chipmunks old manager Ian is back and dressed like a giant bird. And that’s only the first 20 minutes of the movie.
Dead Space animated movie releasing alongside Dead Space 2
Many times a video game doesn’t have the well-developed plot or characters to transition into a successful movie. Someone does it anyway, though. Dead or Alive and Postal leap immediately to mind.
The universe of Dead Space, however, just screams movie adaptation.
Anchor Bay Entertainment will release Dead Space Aftermath, an animated film, on January 25, 2011, alongside Dead Space 2. It’s $34.99 on Blu-Ray and $26.98 on DVD. There’s also a prequel book coming out on December 29, 2010.

UbiWorkshop has been hard at work on another project for the Assassin’s Creed franchise. UbiWorkshop’s previous project was a comic book series called Assassin’s Creed: The Fall, but it has nothing to do with Ezio and Desmond. Assassin’s Creed Ascendance is an animated story that is set to be released on November 16, 2010.

Blu-ray Update: X-Men trilogy, Watchmen tie-in and digital comic coming March 2009
Just in time for the big-screen releases, dueling comic book companies put out must-have Blu-rays of popular franchises.
Three weeks after the Watchmen movie hit theaters, an animated movie, Watchmen: Tales of the Black Freighter, based on the story within a story concept featured in the original Watchmen 12-issue miniseries back in 1986. Also being released in March is Watchmen: The Complete Motion Comic, a two-disc collection of the original twelve issues of the Watchmen comic book series.
Competing company Marvel is releasing all three X-Men feature films as a box set to preempt the May 1, 2009, release of X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Star Wars: Clone Wars on DVD, Blu-ray November 11, 2008
By now, most die-hard Star Wars fans are in two camps – those who loved the original trilogy and refuse to acknowledge that the prequels are canon; and those who worship at the alter of Lucas, the once indie young hotshot who has turned into the very soul-sucking corporation he sought to fight against in his early years (just watch THX 1138). Well, in any event, the latest Star Wars flick, titled Star Wars: The Clone Wars, is coming to DVD and Blu-ray on November 11, 2008.
The film, which is an animated feature and a sort of kick-off to an animated TV series, follows the adventures of legendary Jedi Knights Anakin Skywalker (pre-Vader), Obi-Wan Kenobi, Mace Windu, Yoda and the…

Red vs. Blue ends tonight with episode #100
For all the fans of Rooster Teeth Production’s wacky web series Red Vs. Blue, this is a bittersweet date.
The 100th and final final episode of the comedy series that used the Halo engine to pioneer machinima – movies made out of in-game video footage – will be released this evening (June 27, 2007). This will also complete the storyline that began in 2003 and has included time travel, interspecies mating, talking bombs and all manner of animated military hijinks. Though Rooster Teeth will occasionally release Red vs. Blue specials, the 15 minute finale will be the end the series as we know it.
