So, everyone is excited about The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. It’s a huge game from a notable developer, Bethesda, and it has one of the coolest release dates you can get (November 11, 2011). Which means a lot of people may just be devoted enough to spring for a rather extravagent collector’s edition version of the game.

Whenever a big name console game is released, special editions are a given. So all you collectors have probably known that Microsoft had something special planned for Gears of War 3. I mean, it’s Gears of War! Plus, it’s the conclusion of the trilogy of games! When September 10, 2011 comes, there will be a $59.99 standard, $79.99 limited and $149.99 epic editions to choose from.

It’s pretty obvious what’s in the standard edition of Gears of War 3, what with it costing the same as any new Xbox 360 release, so let’s just go over the special editions…

During Namco Bandai’s Level Up in Dubai press conference yesterday, we learned that From Software’s Dark Souls, the Demon’s Souls follow up, would be out in October 2011 and have some kind of pre-order incentive. Namco Bandai has followed up with more information and I think a lot of people are going to want to pre-order Dark Souls for the PS3 or Xbox 360. After all, it’s not every day that you get a limited edition for a standard edition price.

Wow. If you’re interested in Catherine, then Atlus is ready to spoil you. The company is known for including neat little bonuses with its games for the fans, and not only will there be pre-order incentives for the PS3 and Xbox 360 game, there’ll be a collector’s edition as well. If you live in Europe, then you’re going to get a very special version of Persona 3 Portable sometime in April 2011. Ghostlight picked up the Atlus game, which was released in 2009 in Japan and 2010 in North America. So you all had to wait, but you’re going to get access to a great collector’s edition release to make up for that.
